Somerset MaughamMaugham, Somerset /mɔːm/ (1874–1965) a British writer of novels, and especially short stories, who is considered to be one of the best short story writers in English. His best-known novels include Of Human Bondage and The Moon and Sixpence. Several of his stories have been made into films.
